Biography of real-life model of the fictional Jesus Christ
Caesarea Philippi, The Grotto of Pan

Author: David Seals

Publisher: Flagstaff Quartet

Category: Biography Level: Advanced
500+ page supplement to the 4 volumes of THE FLAGSTAFF QUARTET. Detailed reference work in prose and poetry about the lives of the Pagan Gods and Goddesses, extensive bibliography and appendices, including the mythographic grammar of the' Divine Pan of the Grotto on the golan Heights, at Mt. Hermon, where evangelists over the first 5 centuries of the Common Era developed the story of a fictional Jesus Christ.
In volume Four, canto 2, of 'The Flagstaff Quartet', titled THE CREATION MYTH, the myth begins in heroic verse:
2. The goat-Dionysos Pan from his cave emerged at Caesarea Philippi, the grotto Echo, well beloved nymph worshipped.
{longer excerpts of the poetic section of the book can be found on the Poetry section of Witchvox, under my name; which will include the 5 Parts of the Poem}
Pan goes on to explain the truth to a group of startled and uncomprehending modern tourists, taking pictures at Paneas Falls where the River Jordan emerges from the sacred cave under Mount Hermon, on the borders of Syria, Israel, and Lebanon:
An obstreperous young pilgrim suddenly challenged the old goat, "'And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, whom do men say I am?' Whom do you say, Master, he is, in Mark's Gospel chapter eight verse 27?" Pan glared at the devoted white tourist. "Caesar Philip. What more do you need, sir. It's his town. He and Augustus his cousin built it, erected temples to Lord Pan." The Faithful shook his head and replied, "You go inexplicably from Caesar to Christ." Nice light came out from the wintry sun to cast blue shadows from the olive trees on the drifts of white snow and freezing air. "Pliny, Ptolemy, Cassius Dio corroborate Lucius of Cyrene and Josephus that Paul's fictional Jesus Christ found sanctuary in Philip's tetrarchy, a kindred spirit of peace. It's all over the love gospels, my friend. Jesus, who is nowhere else found in history, loved the Golan Decapolis east of the Jordan River in Nabataea Iturea, King Aretas IV's magnificent Petra where a Philip Aretas (Eros) preached love and is found very much in history; and built cities at several Caesareas, Masada, Jericho, and his 'Father's House' on the site of Solomon's old Jerusalem, thus fulfilling the prophecies of Messiah. He's mistakenly called 'Herod the Great'.'
The christian tourists of course become apoplectic with rage at the thought of the hated Herod having anything to do with their Beloved Savior.
But the facts support the identity of the Judaic Osiris as the King of the Jews at the time, the Tetrarch Philip, born and raised at Bethsaida-Julias, and architect extraordinaire re-building the Temple in Jerusalem and reuniting Israel and Judah, etc. Josephus in his 'Antiquities' also writes of the peace-loving Philip, and his many followers as he preached all around Galilee, and died in ... 33 A.D.
CAESAREA PHILIPPI, THE GROTTO OF PAN, takes up on page 344 where volume One of 'The Flagstaff Quartet', titled 'Hymn To My Mother', left off.
subtitled 'The Hymnodies of Thoth: Slayer of Argus, Healer of Death'

Author's Notes: The equivalent Sacred Precinct to the Grotto of Pan, in Old Palestine, in North America is on the Flagstaff Peaks in northern Arizona.
On the southwest slope of the Peaks, 10 miles west of the town of Flagstaff {and only 40 miles north of the holy Vortices around Sedona} - that the Hopi elders still refer to as "the Doorway to the 5th World" of their prehistoric prophecies - is an ancient ORACLE SHRINE. Newly rediscovered as a major archaeological site, it is clearly a very large man-made Shrine around the Leroux Springs.
Similar in size and sanctity as the Grottoes at Eleusis and Delphi, Siwa Oasis in Libya, and Paneas Falls, this Shrine surrounds the bigger of several Springs (which have been capped and padlocked by the local US Coconino National Forest authorities!) .
