A charming series of eight short stories, told from the point of view of a family of Chihuahuas. The dogs relate important events in their lives, troubles they encounter and lessons they learn. These stories are perfect for bedtime or independent reading. They can easily be used as a lead-in for discussions about safety, acceptance and family issues. Each story centers around a different member of the Schubark family: six Chihuahuas who live together with their people, and two of their siblings who live in other forever homes. Although some discuss sad or scary events, each story has a positive resolution.

Author's Notes: The Schubark Chronicles began as a single short story for a Creative Writing class and evolved, by popular demand, into a collection of eight stories. Each tale is headed with a photo of the narrating Chihuahua, and offers a unique look at the personalities of these little companion animals.
The stories did not begin as value tales, but organically assumed that role. I often tell my audiences that I did not write these stories, I am only the ghost writer for the tales my animal friends choose to relate.
