A Coven of Witches in Small Town Sue Christian God for Peace in a Court Between the Worlds
Magick Town

Author: Katie Cove

Publisher: Kindle, Smashwords, iBooks, Barnes & Noble, etc.

Category: drama, comedy, religious tolerance Level: Intermediate
With magick real and gods involved, Magick Town begins seriously. If you care about oppression of witches, the first three chapters can break your heart. But by the time you hit chapter 4, it becomes more humorous, with quirky townfolks, and the world looking at Kansas as if they didn't know it was there, the story progresses to an unexpected end that promotes religious tolerance.
It has a feel-good ending.
The plot: A coven of witches in a small, Kansas, wheat farming town sue the Christian god for peace in an astral court Between the Worlds. It pits Wicca/witchcraft and Christianity against one another and finds a solution.
Oppressed for thousands of years, scapegoated, tortured, and murdered, the gods have had enough and place the whole town Between the Worlds, in a protective sphere nine miles in radius, within which everything is possible. Initially, the small town is isolated; eventually, the whole world gets involved.
Magick Town is both funny and deadly serious, alternating as the story goes.
Magick Town makes use of stereotypes and expectations for satire in exploring both the causes and the solution to a conflict between Christianity (or anyone) and witchcraft.
Author's Notes: The Craft, in the novel, is generic, particular to the small-town coven in Ashfield, Kansas. The coven make it clear their way is their own, but it will be recognizable and familiar to anyone experienced in the Craft. As is often the case, covens not affiliated with a larger organization have their own way. Yet they are devoted to and defend Wicca and Witchcraft with their lives.
The effort is, in both humor and drama, to explore conflict that has existed for 3, 000 years with Judeo-Christianity religions and seek religious tolerance.
Enjoy,
Katie Cove
Where To Buy: Amazon Kindle. Smashwords. iBooks. Barnes & Noble...
Magick Town can be bought in many places where ebooks are sold on the internet. The primary source is probably Kindle and Smashwords, but also it'll be available elsewhere as companies involved have marketing agreements.
Though professionally edited, the price is small, offered mainly out of love.
