Country Wisdom & Folklore Diary 2013

Author: Lagram/Thompson

Publisher: talking trees books

Category: Diary   Level: All

This is the second diary we have produced and comes from the interest we had in this year’s diary and in particular from the Pagan market.

The Country Wisdom & Folklore Diary (A5 spiral bound) is a craft item, produced in Shropshire, UK and is made from 100% recycled board and paper stock. It is printed using vegetable-based inks at our local printers just a few miles away. It includes the Wheel of the Year, Sun and Moon phases for each day, magical places to visit, things to do, mystical creatures, information about seasonality and gently guides you through the coming year with forgotten country wisdom and folklore snippets. All of the illustrations are original pieces of artwork. Astronomical times have been set for London, England and have been adjusted for daylight saving time.

The Diary was received very favourably at this year’s Pagan Pride Festival in Nottingham.

The idea behind our company, Talking Trees Books is to produce simple, ‘artisan’ items containing information that helps people to connect with the earth and assist in celebrating the cycle of the year; to help keep alive country wisdom & folklore – the traditions, stories, sayings, superstitions and beliefs of our ancestors what could so easily become lost forever; to be as ‘green’ as possible and promote our own artwork.

reviews about last years Diary-
5 out of 5 stars. By Beth
I have searched and searched for a beautiful diary that sat 'right' with me. Living my life as a nature loving pagan this one is perfect!! It has some fantastic info, as well as the moon cycles. The illustrations are just gorgeous, the whole thing has a beautiful handmade feel to it....i now know where i will be shopping every year for diaries for my self as well as for gifts for the people that im blessed to have in my life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Diary - will be ordering again next year! By howdy teacher
This is a really lovely home-made-feel diary. I spent a good half an hour after it arrived going through lots of the pages reading snippets of information and proverbs. Plenty of space to write, beautiful illustrations and cute quotes & proverbs. There's lots of seasonal snippets to help you connect with the time of year and its traditional festivities. It's a bit larger in size than I would usually go for, but it's actually more lightweight than most small-sized diaries, which suits me better - more space and less weight in my bag! Overall it had a lovely feel to it and I will certainly be looking to get one again next year. :-)

A simplistic delight, with delightful pictures and anecdotes., By Kirstie "Keziah Star" (Suffolk) -A simply printed diary, honouring the worlds resources in it's recycled format. Lovely illustrations, and wonderful references to ancient folklore. Includes moon cycle details, and dates for esbats and sabbats. Would definitely buy again and share with others.

Author's Notes: This Diary has been produced as a response to people who opt for a more gentle path in life and who honour nature, traditions and seasonality. We have loved making it and hope you can feel the positive energies within it sent from us. Bright Blessings to you all.
If you like the diary you may like our Yule Advent Calendar aimed at reclaiming the midwinter festival by counting down through opening 'doors' that reveal images and snippets of wisdom and folklore to the 21st December and not the 25th !
