Ghosts & Ghoulies & Beasties, Oh My!|
Ghost of a Chance (Chintz 'n China Series Book 2)
Author: Yasmine Galenorn
Publisher: Berkley Prime Crime
Category: Paranormal Mystery Level: All
Ghost of a Chance: the first novel in Yasmine Galenorn's Chintz 'n China Mystery Series. This series is definitely paranormal/supernatural, though not Wiccan, in nature.
"It was definitely a ghost. there, at the foot of Emerald's bed. A pen hovered above a piece of paper and scrawled these alarming words: "I was murdered by my husband but nobody knows. Help me!" True, Emerald was considered the town witch, but she owned a teashop, not a detective agency. What did the spirit expect? But after another darker entity emerges, bent on destroying her world and her family along with it, Emerald's life takes a screeching detour onto a wild and dangerous road. As she careens into a web of deceit, lies, and secrets woven around her ghostly visitor, death strikes again. Now, along with her friends--an ex-supermodel and a cop--and her new boyfriend, Emerald must search for clues to put the killer behind bars--and this tortured soul to rest."
About The Series:
You aren't in Pleasantville anymore....
The Chintz 'n China Mystery Series is not your typical mystery series, being part suspense, part humor, and part cozy. Follow the exploits of Emerald O'Brien, who is both tea and china shop owner, and psychic-tarot-reader who lives in the small (fictional) town of Chiqetaw, Washington, with her two children and four cats. She's used to hanging out with ghosts and other supernatural beasties, but doesn't particularly want them bothering her family. Along with her best friends Murray--a cop, and Harlow--an ex-supermodel, Emerald finds herself embroiled in murder, mystery and mayhem that comes at her from both the 'mundane world' and the supernatural side of life (and death) .
As Linda, owner of Whodunit Books (a charming mystery shop at the corner of 4th & Franklin in Olympia WA) put it, "They're cozies with teeth."
