Tejas Web Samhain Witchamp 2005

Category: Reclaiming

Website Profile: Tejas Web Witch Camp October 22-29, 2005
Dance with Dionysus
At Tejas Samhain Witch Camp, we dance with Dionysus. We invoke our own will and desire. We learn to be present in the now and celebrate the plenty in our lives. We do so with reverence - and with a keen sense of wicked fun. If you are called to this magic, we invite you to join us for deep work and play in the embrace of the Fates, who weave, measure, and cut the threads of our lives. We invite you to join us along the clear headwaters of the Guadalupe River, on over 600 acres of wild Texas Hill Country near Kerrville.
Tejas Web is an eclectic ecofeminist Witchcraft community of diverse individuals of many different genders, sexualities, ages, backgrounds, and life paths - centered in Austin, Texas, and inspired by the Reclaiming Tradition of Witchcraft.
We see the earth as a sacred being, wherein all life is interconnected. We gather together to learn and practice ecofeminist wiccan magic, celebrating the cycles and challenging unequal power relationships. We build a community of individuals embodying creativity, spontaneity, cooperation, diversity, and activism. We weave our intentions with the energies of many forms of the elements, Goddess and God, healing the rifts within ourselves and the worlds.
WitchCamp is offered to people of all levels of experience. Newcomers can learn the basic skills of magic and ritual, working with the elements, movement, sound, mythology and history. Advanced paths offer the chance to apply magical tools and skills to personal healing and empowerment, or focus on taking the craft out into the community and the world.
Camp is open to anyone 18 or older and to youth ages 13-17 whose parents are also attending camp. If you have not previously attended a Reclaiming camp and would like to bring a teen, please contact us for more information on what to expect at camp.
Study magic and ritual in a week-long intensive that includes trancework, healing, drumming, dancing, chanting, storytelling, and energy work. Choose a Path of study for the week that calls to you to explore and deepen your magic. Participate in evening Rituals that take you into the heart of ancient tales, creating a powerful, transformative energy that builds throughout the course of the week.
We will form community with the ancient oaks and the dry stone creek beds who meander through rugged terrain and rolling hills, with the soaring limestone cliffs and the hidden paths, and with the cypress who gather where the earth meets the water. We'll swim and wade under the warm autumn sun and the ritual fire will beckon beneath the stars. The land will hold us close. We'll dance and sing, trance and dream.
Welcome to the Dance!
