Website Profile: We are a brand new online magazine promoting quality dark fantasy; gothic, macabre and supernatural horror; and surreal science fiction through short stories, narrative poetry and artwork. We are interested in some whimsical fantasy and folklore as well but nothing with a great comic flare. We also welcome non-fiction reviews, articles and essays with regards to the same genre as well as paranormal, New Age, spiritual and religious topics.
General Submission Information:
Stairway To Magick will begin with four issues per year. Beginning some time in 2011, we hope to advance to eight issues per year.
We don't accept shallow slasher, blood and guts horror. Only quality work will be considered. No erotica or pornographic artwork. No child or animal cruelty. Nothing anti-Christian. Nothing condemning to any religion or race. If we receive material of this nature, it will be thrown out without notice or consideration.
Send as many pieces as you'd like for consideration. Simultaneous
submissions are accepted but please inform us immediately if your story is accepted elsewhere.
No reprints. Only original work please.
Writers and artists retain their rights. However, you will be required to
acknowledge a release allowing us to publish your work and a verification stating that it's original.
We only accept electronic submissions. You may send it by Word attachment or through the body of an email. All work must be double-spaced, 12 point and normal font (nothing fancy) . Artwork may be sent by email attachment. Please include your full name, pen name, reply email address and day and evening phone numbers. If your work is accepted, we will ask for a brief bio as well.
Payment:
Stairway To Magick isn't offering monetary compensation at this time.
However, we hope to change that in the future. In the meantime, being
published by us means vast exposure as this our main site (Moonlight
Enchantments) is a well-established, popular site, and this magazine will be promoted to the max. Being published by us will also give you a notch on your belt . . . Or resume.
