Website Profile: I have been on my spiritual/magickal journey for only 47 years, so I am by no means an expert. Mine has been a three-fold commitment, a quest for self knowledge/self improvement, for magickal study/wisdom, and for spiritual enlightenment/exploration.

I am a witch, a writer and a storyteller. Some of my essays have been have been translated into as many as 7 languages. And I have contributed to several pagan newsletters. Most notably for my dear friend, George Knowles of

My website is content heavy because I come from an oral family tradition. You will not find the standard FAQ texts on my website. I am not Wiccan, even as I honor Wicca as the parent of modern witchcraft and neopaganism. And as Hereditaries are evolutionary, my children have encorporated some of Wicca into their practice.

Family Craft pages are found under the link called Book of Gen, under titles: Growing up in a Magical Home, Magickal Records, Mother's Work, and Grandmother’s Wisdom. My Book of Shadows covers spells, spellcraft, candle magick, amulets/ talisman, and more. My Book of Rituals has Esbat rituals-for both the Dark and Bright Moons and Rites of Passage rituals for Wiccaning and a Handfasting. My Book of Light holds essays, quotations and poetry.

I have neglected my website for the past several years due to my writing several pagan philosophy books how I got to this point in my journey. And I am about to start publishing as of 2013. I haven't update my website nearly as often as I should have in the past few years as I am beginning to fully come out of the closet as "Mother" of my clan and at their urging take our family tradition fully into the public eye. I'm going to publish my books in both print and e-print mediums.

Irish by tradition, yet not a petrified tradition or locked in reconstruction of ancient ways, my family tradition grew with the wisdom of modern thought: the rights of man, the age of enlightenment. Thus, while at the same time Grandmother's Greek studies included the classical four elements (not Irish tradition) she was also studying the metaphysical and academical thoughts of Carl Jung. So, ours is a living tradition that has evolved beyond Great-Grandmother, Grandmother, though Mother's studies, my studies and now my children's studies. Our Book of Shadows which began with Mother's first writings is still growing.

Family traditions don't have names. We are Clan McCormick. After my Great Grandfather James Patrick McCormick, father of Helen McCormick, who handed down her mother's traditions through my mother to me. So, for just family, that is what we have always called ourselves. But coming out of the closet, embracing anyone who can identify with our traditions, I (reluctantly) agreed it was time to name our family circle. Since Irish tradition is largely steeped in triads, I was looking for one that honored the quarters. Although there are several references to a four of "something", the closest I could find was the Irish tradition of honoring the four winds. I live in a desert. Of all the seasonal constants, Wind is ours. So to tie our circle to the ancestors, yet reflect the land where we stand now, we have blessed our circle with the name of Circle of the Four Winds.

I am affiliated with the Sisters of Sekmet and Desert Moon Coven as my community. I am growing into the Priestess that Mother's prophesy said was overdue. I counsel and work for anyone who knocks on my door, because it is a tradition of the old woman down the lane. If you have the courage to knock, I must answer.

Thanks for the fly-by. Blessings to you and yours.
