Website Profile: Wiccan Family Temple Tradition

Formed by Starr and Luna on July 4th 2007. The concepts of our tradition are based on many combined. Eclectics that we are we took a little from some and created our own.

We follow the Wiccan Rede. And believe in the threefold law. Do not necessarily believe in covens as it is not for everyone. But do believe in witches of all traditions, levels etc. coming together to celebrate and raise energy for the Esbats and Sabbats. We do believe in learning and sharing our knowledge with each other.

We do believe in witches learning and gathering knowledge through books and via the internet, but studying in groups to gather hands on experience as well. Our tradition has dedications not initiations, once you have been with us studying for a full year and a day and has participated in the Esbats and Sabbats during that time. We believe that wicca and witchcraft is a way of life that should be shared with the entire family. So we welcome members to bring their children and their non-Wiccan family members to share in our open celebrations.

We love to chant, sing and dance. We believe in healthy living, taking care of the Earth, our communities and the environment. We do believe that everything on earth as a spirit like the trees that are all around us. We are certainly Witches and proud of it. We believe in getting politically involved which is why we created the NYC Pagan Council a civil rights organization to help pagans August 2007.

We also formed the WFT Academy of Pagan Studies in July 2007 and the Dragon Academy for the kids Sept. 2008. And Charmed by Starr which started in 1994 to provide our community with pagan ritual items to present. Also started our own tradition of NYC Witches Masquerade Balls since 2005 to present. We believe that a wise witch who is Wiccan never stops learning. For there is an entire world to learn about and many traditions to be.

We are The Wiccan Family Temple, New York City based. We are not a coven. We are a group of Eclectic Solitary Witches who comes together as families to celebrate on Sabbats and Esbats and other special occasions. Come join our Family. Everyone of all traditions are welcome to join us for any or all of our celebrations. Everyone of all ages, races and genders are welcome to celebrate with us. Our celebrations are always participatory.

History of how we came to be The Wiccan Family Temple and our collaborators:

Charmed By Starr was founded in 1993. From its origin as just a supplier of Pagan/ Wiccan items, over the years Charmed By Starr’s offerings have grown to include psychic readings, Craft classes and Group Wicca studies. Began teaching the Enchanted Candle Carving Spell Classes in 1995 with the first version of her book published that same year. Founded the eShoppe in 2005.

Has been a practicing Eclectic Solitary Wiccan Witch since 1990. Founder of Charmed by Starr in 1993, trained with The Minoan Sisterhood under Mary for 2 years. In 1994 and 1995 studied Witchcraft as a Science in the Cabot Tradition at Enchantments Inc., attaining her 1st and 2nd degree under Laurie Cabot's wise teachings.

She has been organizing and serving the New York City Pagan Community for over 15 years providing lectures, classes, workshops and festivals related to the Pagan Community.

Specializing in The Enchanted Candle Spell Castings teachings since 1995 she enjoys sharing with others how to better craft their spells.

Being very much the business woman she started her own Pagan shops based out of several locations, Video Haven with Artie, Halloween Adventure, and finally the East Village Shop on East 3rd Street in 2005. In May 2005 co-founded the group known as Sirens Sanctuary until separating January 2006. Also in 2005 she founded, partnering with Athena to supply all of your many ritual and magickal needs. In

October 2005 she began the first Witches Masquerade Ball with long time friend Athena, and new found friend Zan. So began a new tradition of Witches Masquerade Balls in New York City held at The Delancey Lounge. In 2006 she did the 2nd Annual Witches Masquerade Ball with friends Athena and Melissa also at The Delancey Lounge. In 2007 did The 3rd Annual Witches Masquerade Ball on a Saturday which was traditionally done on Sundays. Since completing her training as a 3rd degree High Priestess she has written all of the rituals for the Esbats and Sabbats under her guidance. She has also performed as High Priestess in rituals for Esbats, Sabbaths, Dedications, Wiccanings, Rites of Passages and Last Rites.

In 2007 with her new found friend Luna they became the founding mothers of the New York City Wiccan Family Temple followed by The Wiccan Family Temple Academy of Pagan Studies founded by Starr, Luna and Athena. Along with her friend Luna they also founded The New York City Pagan Council. Now founded the Dragon Academy hived off of The WFT Academy of Pagan Studies for 5-13 year olds. This will begin January 2009. As of July 6, 2008 she is now a 3rd Degree High Priesstess Starr RavenHawk of the Wiccan Family Temple.

No one person knows every thing, as everyday we learn something new. Keep on learning. FREE YOUR MIND, EDUCATE IT, AND THE REST WILL FOLLOW. Love meeting and getting together with you all at our events so please do feel at home and welcome. Blessed Be To you all.
