Website Profile: Dear Sir or Ma’am,
I am writing on behalf of the Military Pagan Retreat (MPR) Project. The Military Pagan Retreat Project is focused on providing Pagans serving in the military with both a location and the time to relax, commune with their view of Divinity and prepare for their continued service to Our Country. I come to ask for your support.
The service members of our great nation are being asked to do more and more for longer with less dwell time at home with their families. Our Christian brothers and sisters are able to help those who follow their path, by providing religious retreats. I feel called to help my Pagan brothers and sisters by hosting religious retreats to fill their needs.
I aim to use the time set aside for retreats to help military service members. Our current plans would include taking time to talk in a form of group therapy, offering blessing and showing ways to help cope with issues experienced by service members. I am asking for help from any and all who support our troops, from those willing and able to talk and teach to those who simply wish to help defray the costs and everything in between.
My goal for the MPR is to start as a three day event. On the first day, we would spend time getting familiar with each other, getting settled in, and spend time in a group setting. The goal for the first day is to let everyone express themselves, their issues and to hopefully provide support. The second day would be for a ritual. The purpose of the ritual is to honor the participants, bless them, and to help them express themselves. The Final day would be focused on preparing them to continue their service. We would continue with teaching ways to help cope with stressors faced during their service.
