The Poisoner's Apothecary offers visionary plants crafted into ritual herbal blends, potent incenses, anointing oils, and traditional flying ointments for use in magic and ceremony. Our artisan products are hand crafted in small batches with the ritual herbs of Europe long-associated with the good folk, the dead, the underworld, witches, wild spirits and ancient gods.
The Poisoner’s Apothecary is a celebration of sacred botanicals, both poisonous and mind-altering, beloved to the peoples of the ancient world; used in their rites of augury, ecstasy, and necromancy to commune with spirits and old gods. Our recipes are unearthed from the dust of centuries-old grimoires, folklore, oral lore, and forgotten traditions of forgotten peoples who worshipped these plants like underworld deities, painting them on cave walls and burying them as offerings with their dead. They are the plants of shape-shifting, spirit-flight, spirit-sight, and ecstatic trance known as ambrosia, ichor, amanita, apiaceae, artemesia, solanaceae… They are poison and medicine – bane and blessing. The Apothecary is their shrine that we may remember these sacred plants and seek their aid in magic and ritual once more.
Our mission is to reduce or remove the fear of visionary plants and reconnect us with the ancient ritual uses of traditional European herbs. To teach how these plants can aid in and enhance our work with spirit. To rekindle the plant wisdom of Europe which has its own sacred plants to be safely used in ceremonies and magic.
