 The Story...
The main inspiration from Silentium came the Dario Argento films "INFERNO" & "SUSPIRIA". In the story, there are three witches who hire an alchemist/architect to build for them special dwelling places to practice thier magick, run thier covens, and also retain secrecy from public knowledge to avoid further persecution. The alchemist has to make a vow of silentium to the witches, swearing he will never devulge thier secret reasons for having these buildings constructed. His vow is thier insurance that they will not be hunted down and destroyed by the fearful, judgemental herd that fears & doesn't understand thier ways & practices, and wants them wiped out. When the alchemist spills the beans, the witches catch wind, and all hell breaks loose.
NOTE: The words to this song could be easily written off as violent, negative, destructive, etc. This was not our goal, and it is not meant to convey evil intentions, nor does it represent the demeanor witches in general. The pure rage that it envelopes is the result of someone breaking thier promise to you and betraying your trust behind your back, leaving you vulnerable. In this situation, survival is what is important, at all costs. Those that curse you with lies & betrayal, as we all know, will have it come back to them in time, with a little help from willpower. So this song is about self-preservation against all odds, it's not about revenge. The bottom line is: Keep your word! Don't say it if you don't mean it. Don't write a check with your mouth that your ass can't cash.
Recorded: recorded on buZZard's 4track, winter 1999
Guests/Players: SAint bZZrd-guitar, cursing, arpaxxe fAkearm-drumming, beatings Obscuratron-low strings, obscurement
Technical Notes: This song was recorded on a Tascam Porto-07 4track. There is an ARPAXXE analog synthesizer on a few parts, otherwise, it's pretty straight guitar/bass/drums/vocals. There was nothing digital used on this recording, effects or otherwise. Everything was analog & the LoFi sound is intentional. We kept it this way for ease of self-sufficiency, and because we believe that our music is better represented unpolished. We don't want anyone to be dazzled by the recording production, because it's the mood the song presents that's important. Technology is , for the most part, our enemy, so we steer clear from paying for it in a studios. We feel doing it yourself preserves alot of a songs soul, because you aren't getting more people involved with opinions.

Silentium
(words & music by blackQueen)
ascending the cobblestone stairs, spiraling spirit lay hidden undead, gaurding unspeakable ecrets too fatal to hear, see or say signing your promise in blood, bound to silentium!
dwellings looming in blackness, sew your lips shut with my spell dark dismal houses of blasphemy, no passage from this hell
corridors winding in peril, insanity alters awaiting our queen, rule o'er the land with fear. drink from the crimson chalice, virgin blood shadows coming to life with the dead, fulfill the will of the witch!
her name must not be spoken, defiler of the pact the gates will now be open, the fear you'll feel you heart will turn dead black..
tear you limb from limb, in your blood my poison swims bleed, forever burn, your ashes in my urn slashing out your tongue, drink your blood, your life is done bleed, forever burn, your ashes in my urn
