Bardic Circle Featuring Music for the Goddess...

Round and Round
(by Wendy Sheridan and Vonorn)

Audience Count: 14,361

The Story...

Wendy wrote the chorus of "Round and Round" as a closing chant for the first ritual where she acted as High Priestess. The verses grew from a vision that Wendy had during a 3 hour drum circle during a Beltane party at the Portal of the Porcupine in Piscataway, NJ. Wendy remarks, "after attending my first Starwood this past summer, I realized in retrospect that the vision I had was of Starwood and the fire circles there."

Recorded: 1999 by Vonorn Productions, Piscataway, NJ

Guests/Players: Wendy Sheridan - lead vocals, acoustic guitar, Daxe - bass, Vonorn - keyboards, drums, background vocals.

Technical Notes: Various keyboards and synthesizers, bass, ProTools

Artist Profile: Music for the Goddess has been rocking the Pagan community since its formation on Mabon (the fall equinox) 1998 with an eclectic mix of music, musicians and instrumentation. Their songs range from Celtic-influenced folk to hard rock and everything in-between. Their debut album, Goddess Mandala, provides one hour of music that has something for everyone. The band has toured throughout the North Eastern United States and Canada, at outdoor festivals and conventions, including Starwood (upstate NY) , Free Spirit Gathering (Maryland) , the Mid-Atlantic Pagan Alliance Beltane festival (New Jersey) , Spirits of the Earth Festival (Ontario, Canada) , Caduceus Festival (NJ) , The Gaia's Gate Music Festival and the Millennium Philcon (the World Science Fiction Convention in Philadelphia PA) . Additionally, the band has supported Pagan Pride Day with concerts in Manhattan and New Jersey. Music for the Goddess has just released their second album, Dancing With Hecate, on Samhain 2005 (October 31, 2005) .

Round and Round
(words & music by Wendy Sheridan and Vonorn)

There's a glade in the forest where great bonfires burn Drummers beat out the rhythm, while the dancers sing and leap and clap and tap and turn Round and round, never end Open, never broken, oh, we will meet again Fate takes hold of our vision as we go into the night Let go, make no decision, dance around the bonfire light Sparks fly, spiral together away up into the sky Dancers and drummers forever keep the rhythm of the Goddess pulse of earth and life Round and round never end Open never broken we will meet again
