Bardic Circle Featuring Flash Silvermoon...
Dancin' With The Snake
(by Flash Silvermoon)

Audience Count: 8,653
 The Story...
Dancin' With the Snake slithered into my consciousness while i was writing something else and demanded to be noticed. from the opening chords, I felt my Spirit lifted and engaged in a sacred dance with this mystical energy. Trance-like, the words sung themselves into my ear and out of my mouth 'til the ritual was complete and my kundalini was rising... and the Snake had done her sacred dance and was willing to return to her cave. I sort of felt Jim Morrison's energy abit in the middle.
Recorded: Skylab Studios, Gainesville, Florida, Feb 16, 2003
Guests/Players: Flash enlisted the support and musicianship of Denise Burnsed from her band, the Blues Sisters, to play bass and sing backup. Gerry at Skylab did a beautiful job engineering in the 32 track digital studio - almost a third instrument!
Technical Notes: Flash Silvermoon sings lead and background vocals. She has performed, wrote and arranged this tune. Flash used the Roland RS9 keyboard utilizing several synth sounds and also sampled oboe/sitar. A Boss Drum machine was also used. The rhythm was filled out with her Djembe-African drum and snake-egg rattle.
Artist Profile: Flash onstage is a force of nature. As a musician, Flash's keyboard and percussion artistry is fiery and evocative blues and funk, rock, jazz and worldbeat. Vocally, she has been compared to Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt and Grace Slick. However, her sound and songwriting are quite unique. Few woman drummers can match her African drumming. Musically, this woman knows no boundaries.
Flash moved to Florida from NYC 26 years ago and was part of the burgeoning Women’s Music Scene there stirring the musical/cultural/political cauldron for many Moons. She led the bands Sister, Flash in the Pan, and Medusa from NYC and toured with Medusa up and down the East Coast through the Mid West to the Michigan Women’s Music Festival. She has performed with artists as diverse as Kay Gardner, June Millington, Nuru, Karen Beth, Edwina Lee Tyler, Zoe Lewis, Ubaka Hill, and many others. As a teenager on the Jersey shore, Flash even jammed with a very young Bruce Springsteen in the day when women rockers were really scarce. Like Omi, Flash is also a Priestess, Psychic Healer and Teacher; in addition, she is a gifted Astrologer and author of The Wise Woman’s Tarot Deck and Book and Flash Silvermoon’s Planetary Playbook.
