Bloodmoon
(words & music by Pat McIntosh Barbara Doyle Greg Boyles)

BLOOD MOON

Verse 1:

A young witch comes out to do her chores

She feels the night wind as it stirs

Looking round just to see

A mysterious wind blow through the trees

Shivers run up and down her spine

She sees the Blood Moon on the Rise

The smell of trouble in the air

Burning times now and then

Time and time and time again.
RUN WITCH RUN

Verse 2:

A dim flame glowing on the hill

Torches of men coming down the road

To drag her to the burning times

The shadows of the masses cry

While she looks unto the sky

She sees the Blood Moon on the Rise

The smell of trouble in the air

Burning times now and then

Time and time and time again
BURN WITCH BURN

Verse 3:

They take her to the burning post

Whip and strip and tie her down

Smoke and flames on the rise

Burn her toes and sting her eyes

Flames lick her body now

She sees the Blood Moon on the Rise

The Smell of trouble in the air

Burning times now and then

Time and time and time again

DIE WITCH DIE

Verse 4:

Now she weeps for the Ladys grace

Receive her home, and leave this place

Her spirit leaves her tortured soul,

The Mother Goddess takes her home.

For Summer-land will heal her now,

With peace and love and friends of old.

Its a time to rest and time to heal

Burning times done and gone.

Time and time and time again

HEAL WITCH HEAL

CHORUS:

We see the Blood Moon on the Rise

The smell of trouble in the air

Burning times now and then

Time and time and time again

FEAR WITCH FEAR

RUN WITCH RUN

BURN WITCH BURN

DIE WITCH DIE

HEAL WITCH HEAL.

The Story...

This is a song that was inspired from the witch burnings as well as the current witch persecution happening in Africa and other parts of the world. This is something that is very close to our hearts. It happens every day even to those that live in country's like America. People loose their jobs, their children and their family's all cause of fear of the witch. When will this end? Are we so bigoted as a society that we can not tolerate a different belief system? What must we do to make this come to and end? Education is the answer. Getting people to understand that we are not making their crops fail, or in more advanced country's making their stock portfolio plummet. This story can cross to all walks of life, Gay and lesbian, Single Parents, People of color. There is persecution in all walks of life all over the world. Live and let live. If your neighbor is black. Dont be afraid to shake his hand for fear of it rubbing off on you. If your neighbor is a witch, dont be afraid she will cast some spell on you. Fact of the matter is most everyone that I know that is on the wiccan path is very much aware of the Harm none reed and follow it to the letter. So that being said, Lets stop the fear. It just destroys peoples lives.

Artist Profile: Hailing from Blackhawk, Colorado, the Pagan Tribal Rock band, HEARTBEAT, tells the pagan story in every appearance. This theatric troupe employs costumes, unusual props, set decoration, lighting and author Marc Sylvir narrating the story to welcome the audience into a magickal event.
High Priestess, Epona, casts a circle to collect and heighten the events energies in an effort to transform the world. HEARTBEAT specializes in world religion inspirational music for not only the Pagan and Wiccan community, but for any Spiritual Path. Their music touches and inspires both the new age and the curious.
HEARTBEATs first album, Blood Moon, was released in 2009. Music from this album has not only inspired people who are Pagan around the world, it has also touched those of many diverse spiritual paths not only from the United States but also world wide. HEARTBEAT has played several festivals and events throughout Colorado, and shared the stage with other artists such as Wendy Rule, Lunar Fire, The Gypsy Nomads, Pandora Celtica, Tuathua, Kenny Kline, Fire in the Asylum, Born In Winter and Odins Other Eye. They have performed on day events such as Colfax Marathon and Front Range Pagan Pride, and were on the Board of Directors for FRPP two (2) years running. They have performed at popular local venues such as Buffalo Rose, 3 Kings, D-Note, and the Mercury Caf. They have performed by request their unique show at many private parties, events and Charities. They have been asked to perform at many other upcoming events such as Witches Ball in Colorado Springs and the Western Slope Pagan Pride Day. In 2010 HEARTBEAT was selected by Odins Other Eye to welcome the community at all of Odins major events, counting down to the end of the Mayan calendar, and a new age of enlightenment.
Due to their diverse and original musical style and presenting their show in a very unique and theatrical way, HEARTBEAT is quickly becoming the new band to see.
