The Story...
 Sekhmet is the Goddess from ancient Egypt, who has the body of a woman and the head of a lioness. Hers is the magic of transformation and restoration of the Divine order. She has many names. Yes, She is the Goddess of War, Pestilence, Destruction… and she is also the Mother of Medicine, at whose wish the arts were born, the Lady of the House of Books. Multiple Her names, manifold Her blessings.
In the ancient stories, she is both destructive and restorative—as the poet Rumi says she is “pain and what cures pain.” Hers is the magic of transmuting rage into strength for inspired action.
Her mantra is “Sa Sekhem Sahu, ” which roughly translates as “With each breath, Divine strength enters my highest being.”
This song was written in honor of the Nevada Desert Experience's "Sacred Peace Walk, " to inspire those who are walking across the desert for peace.
It is a call for guidance, a prayer for strength, and a blessing of Presence. Sing it when you want to feel Her powerful paws enfolding and protecting you. Sing it when you want a loving Mother to walk beside you. Sing it when you need a guide through the Underworld, and sing it as a song of gratitude for this moment, this heartbeat, this breath.

Artist Profile: Abigail McBride is a musician and artist, based in Las Vegas. She is a highly skilled facilitator of fire-circle technology, and the co-author of Universal Fire Circle Alchemy. Her latest album, Fire of Creation is a collection of her original music inspired by the fire circles. She travels worldwide, performing magic, dancing, and teaching singing, drumming and movement workshops. She spends her free time practicing the art of levitation as lead assistant to her husband, magician Jeff McBride.
