Bardic Circle Featuring...
 Telling Point ...
Labyrinth
(by Sue Balaschack, Alyssa Yeager)

Audience Count: 14,007

The Story...
This song began as a strictly drum and percussion piece. Sue asked Alyssa about adding lyrics, and they considered....what is the story behind the drums? The idea they hit on, which struck them both and stuck, was the story of the Labyrinth. For those who have experienced a Labyrinth walk, you know that there are many levels of sensory and spiritual exploration. If you've never done a Labyrinth walk, consider this your first introduction! The first half of the piece explores the outer circle of the Labyrinth: the environment, the visual experience, the silent approach to the circle in darkness. Sparse candles light the way just enough to remain on the path, if you so choose. You weave in circles growing and shrinking, moving in and out, passing others within the circle, and always moving towards the center. The second half of the song goes deeper into the inner circle: what the mind experiences as you traverse the Labyrinth. Where is the path taking you on this walk? What questions or intentions are you exploring? Your mind wanders and focuses sharply at the same time. The outer circle becomes the inner circle and back again. How do the circles flow together and apart? What do you see with your eyes as you walk, and what do you see within yourself? We suggest closing your eyes as you listen and using Labyrinth as a guided imagery: take yourself away to the peace, the reflection, the escape of the Labyrinth journey. Allow the song to teach you what you are meant to learn today.

Artist Profile: Ask for the background of each member and you'll understand how this Cleveland based rock group came to have such an eclectic sound. Influences ranging from jazz and middle eastern to classic rock and new metal have caused Telling Point to classify their style as "Rock of a different nature". The commanding drums will keep you moving as the sensual vocals embrace you. The Telling Point Acoustic show provides listeners an intimate connection with the band. Each song is a story: personal, inviting. Whether it’s the djembe groove or the poetic lyrics, you’ll want to take this music in and let it touch you.
