Into the Mists
(by Rob Crocker)

Audience Count: 4,304

The Story...

I recently had a very lucid dream about standing on the prow of a Viking longship. I was there behind the dragon headed prow watching the waves and mist wrap around the boat. We were rapidly approaching a fog bank and I remember the feeling of excitement and exhileration pouring over me at the prospect of what lay beyond that wispy barrier. There where entire worlds to discover it seemed and I could almost feel my excitement pushing the boat onwards. It was as if I were one with the wind and the sea and the wood of that magnificent ship. I was only limited by where my imagination and force of will would take me. And this I knew in that moment that we hit the mist, that those were boundless.
When I awoke I had such a strong feeling of ambition and power. I had not felt like that in a very long time. I immediately hit the studio when I got home from work that day and began to record. I have been more prolific since having this dream than I have been in years! I have begun to write again (both stories and poetry) and have begun a series of recording projects. I have a zest and compulsion again for things that I had lost. I feel that I have cleared the mist and that there is nothing but clear blue ocean before me now to take me where ever I want to go!

I NEED MORE MUSICIANS!!! IT'S JUST ME HERE! ;) Are there any musicians in the Fort Wayne area that are interested in forming a band? I usually play heavier music than this, but I had such a good time recording this that I am certainly going to do more like it.

Recorded: Ragnguatr Studios May 2005
Guests/Players: All instruments, programming and mixing done by Rob Crocker.

Technical Notes: Recorded and Mixed on PC with Cooledit Pro 2, Used Washburn and BC-Rich guitars and Ibanez bass. Drums were created using Acid Pro 5. Used Digitech GNX3 guitar processor and an Ebow.

Artist Profile: I have been playing guitar and any other type of musical instrument I could get my hands on for a very long time. I've never had formal lessons and just learn on my own. A lot of times I never even know What I'm going to play, I just improvise and play as I go.

Many of my songs have been recorded like this and though I'm biased...I don't feel like it has ever held me back. I do my best stuff when I just relax and go with the music!
