Walk Into the Storm (Don't Cry To Me)
(words & music by David Wood)Don’t cry to me Don’t cry to me
Don’t cry to me Don’t cry to me
Chant to the power of the wind (Chant to the power of the wind and the fire) Dance to the music in your heart (your heart) Bow to the trees as they bend (great Willow) Sing to the clouds as they part
Walk into the storm Let the lightning heat your blood Wash away the pain Open up the gate and let it flood Too long have you suffered now it’s time to be free Open up yourself and don’t cry to me (don’t cry to me)
Let the energy fly from your fingertips Praises to the Gods should fall from your lips Twirl like the wind Spin around and fly Let the energy soar to the skies
(Repeat Chorus)
Don’t cry to me Let the real you start to see . . .
Get out on your own and take responsibility for your own actions You’ve got to do for yourself . . . don’t cry to me . . . and don’t count on me You learn the hard way baby.

The Story...
The Music for Walk Into the Storm (Don’t Cry to Me) was actually written long ago in the late 80’s-early 90’s and was turned into a song called “Children of the Darkness”. It appeared on a cassette tape (at that time) called “The Storm”. I never thought the lyrics fit the music at that time. The music was a driving force and the music was about vampires. So, years later – Luna Dragonhawk writes these wonderful lyrics called "Walk Into the Storm" and another called "Don’t Cry to Me". She wrote the majority of the 1st and 2nd verses. I inserted the chorus and a lot of the stuff toward the end about responsibility for your own actions, etc...sort of merged them together. They fit perfectly to the music and here we have this incredible song. I believe that people put their own meaning to the songs they listen too. I feel, in a lot of ways, music videos ruin what people visualize when listening to a song. They make it fit their own lives. With a video, you have someone else’s image stuck in your head every time you hear it. But alas, to me, Walk Into The Storm is about being in the middle of “personal” storms. Everyday scenarios that happen in life that may seem traumatic to some. In my Craft training, I have learned to walk into those storms and embrace them and accept it for what it is or change what is causing the storm. When it comes down to your own life storm and surviving it, no one can do it for you. People may offer advice, you may contact psychics, you may often depend on something or someone outside of yourself to tide you over or make the storm a little easier. Like crawling inside and putting the cover over your head. Well, no one can do it for you. You have to face the dark and stormy paths and learn to go with it. Because, guess what?
There will be another and another . . . . probably the same storm until you learn from it and know that this too shall pass until the next time.
Face it. Know it will pass. Learn why the storm is there and if it may be of your own creation. Not everyone reacts to a storm the way another will. Oh . . . and don’t cry to me

Artist Profile: David Wood is a recording artist based in Columbus, OH. His music has been described by local media as the POP/Dance Alternative with a dash of Soul. From High Energy Dance music and soulful ballads, to the erotic and mystical . . . his music continues to appeal to a wide variety of audiences.
David started his journey with the release of his 1992 CD, "Plaything". This disc contained several foot stomping tracks with attitude that became an instant hit in many dance clubs. People came to see who the person was that belted the tunes they frequently danced to, like 'Rhythm, Testify & Vanity'.
By 1994 David slowly created a name for himself and was traveling frequently. Thus, it was time to head back to the studio for another CD and to build a better show. He added a couple of young ladies by the name of Camella Fury - who had began working with David on the 'Plaything' disc - and Marley Howard. Together they formed Danse Wrapture, and propelled audiences into a frenzy with their tight dance routines and powerful vocals.
With the release of 'Scrapbook' came newspaper interviews, radio play, club dates and a hectic pace which included daily rehearsals for the trio. David recalls, "We showed a lot of people who doubted us, what we could really do!" However, a time of setback was upon the artist.
Power struggles with his manager and the dealings with the corrupt side of the music industry began to take their toll on David Wood. Danse Wrapture began to hive and develop their personal lives and focus on family. David continued with solo appearances until the time came to slow down. "I was beginning to go to a dark & dangerous place in my life", said David. I just needed to stop and discover who I was outside of the music.
Nearly 3 years after the success of 'Scrapbook', David Wood released a new CD appropriately titled, 'From The Ashes' in 1997.
Well worth the wait, in 2001 David Wood releases his most creative compilation to date. The throbbing & swirling sounds of 'Wytch' take you to another world and back leaving chills up your spine.
Small events and concert appearances continued to populate David Wood's schedule while preparation and promotion was under way for his upcoming CD.
In April of 2003 David Wood released LOVE CHILD FROM 69. This CD takes you back to the exciting and fun days of Studio 54. David has always loved the Disco era and has dedicated the CD to his mother, the original Disco Queen. There were many stops along the way for the Love Child Tour which included radio interviews, pagan and dance club events and more.
David Wood is a 3rd degree High Priest and licensed clergy within the Black Forest Clan and Circle Seminary. He is a Reiki and Hoodoo practitioner and very involved with Spiritism.
David currently teaches within his Black Forest based coven, Coven of the Black Leopard in Columbus, OH.
