I was sitting, peering out a window on a drizzly January day and reminiscing over some of my earliest memories. I recalled being taken to a cemetery by my aunt, on Memorial Day, when I was 6 years old - and pondering over the nature and purpose of the huge angelic statues in the cemetery. The theory I formulated, I'll let you discover when you hear the piece. This tangent of storytelling coaxed me into exploring storytelling as it relates to personal spiritual growth. I began to use it not only as performance, but some sort of therapy of my own, a way to reconnect with those things in my life that were crucial periods and discoveries, but which got lost somehow in the dusty library of my head during the mundanity of every day life. This led to another side project, which involved me pulling together songs, poems and stories of American Craft that had come my way over the years, and making this collection available to others of Craft who are interested in knowing of this nations tradition, and perpetuating it. This piece isn't a song per se, but a personal story told a background of harp music. It led to more memories and stories, which culminated in a running project called "Tales of A Kind". He is a harper, pianist, performer, composer and storyteller with almost two dozen albums in release. He is also a member of several composer organizations, and has had his work in piano, string quartet, chorale and string symphony debuted in the last two years.
