Call Time
(words & music by Michelle Glover and Ben Glover)Call time on the dog at your heels Swallow dive With the wind singing in your hair You'll be better when you're over
Wrap your bag with the last things you have Stride out With the wind singing in your hair You'll be better when you're over
It was a beautiful way to say goodbye A beautiful day to take a dive Off the side of the world While the light came through the wall Looking down on everyone
Call time - your followers are gone Stride on with the wind singing in your hair You'll be better when you're over

The Story...
This is the opening track from Magicfolk's new album "Tales of Power".
The archetype of the wise fool appears in many cultures in all parts of the world. His lack of experience in the ways of society is seen on the surface to be a disadvantage, but in reality it ensures that his mind is not closed to unusual experiences that are denied to ordinary people.
He is a vagabond on the fringes of society, going his own way, ignoring the rules. He can be seen as the innocent spirit about to embark on physical incarnation, the child who has yet to learn of the perils in the world, or the seeker after enlightenment. His mood is joyous and carefree.
His bag contains the elusive memories of what he is leaving behind; memories that will urge him onwards in his search to recover what he is about to lose - his primeval innocence. He is sometimes seen to carry a small flower in his hand, and this represents his soul; the fragment of divinity which he will bear with him through all the trials ahead.
In this song we imagined the fool striding confidently onwards. He lives in the enjoyment of the present moment, carefree, unconcerned about the past - the dog jumping at his heels - or the future, the unknown, which lies beyond the cliff's edge.
