Under Moonlight

Gazing upwards
Searching the night sky...
I stare longingly at Luna's face.
Hoping, just the faintest trace~
Of Her smile will shine upon me.
Granting Her fearless strength...
To surge through my own beating heart.
To impart; upon me,
All Her millenia of insight.
Ever bearing witness to the madness
That we humans inflect in the night, ...
But never hiding Her presence
Under the veil of darkness.
She has remained an ancient vigil.
A beacon whose assurance
Of our own existance,
Has stood the test of time.
An angel watching over us in the night.
Bathing us in Her magical, mystical light.
Watching, waiting for the dawn to rise...
When She can sleep at last~resting tired eyes.
Awakened once again
when darkness leaks across the sky.
Embracing Her, in suspended time.
I am deeply grateful for Her constant stare, ...
Finding my own fearless heart, less fearful
And comforted in Her care.
