Ascension
by Kissing Wind Mabigonia Thriceborn
Age Group: Adult
From Maid to Crone do I ascend,
From seed to leaf then shall I grow.
Every hour and every minute
Here within this circle grows.
Maid I was when I was seven
Filled with wonder, filled with doubt
So innocent my ignorance.
Then came the Fires from the South.
Bloody Phoenix rose within me
Readied womb - Mother became
Lived my life with joy and wonder -
Learned of life along the way.
Soon to Crone I shall awaken,
Sister then to history.
Western Waters, still and placid.
Winter's chill a mystery.
Back to Earth and into Ether;
Come about to live again.
Crone, and Mother - Maiden Phoenix,
Within me do come again.
Author's Notes: A reflection upon the seasons of life that cycle through us in an everlasting cycle of knowledge.
