Summer Crowned
by Kissing Wind
Age Group: Adult
Come and dance by the twilight’s moon,
Across the quick weavings of starlight’s loom.
Hear now the beat of tabour and drum
Live the beat, to the Circle, come!
Dance and see my dear gypsy lad,
By each jig-reel-and beat, we have
Made him a King by each twist and pass:
So sing us a song dearest gypsy lad!
List’-to-the-wind; follow its tune,
Dance by the fire, ‘til the night’s new moon.
Crown now the King with the wreath and bough
Lay it on his head, set it on his brow.
Summer King by the fire dance;
Bring the sun with each leap and prance!
Sing to the song of the mandolin,
Dance to the song that lives within.
Come and dance by the twilight’s moon,
Across the quick weavings of starlight’s loom.
Hear now the beat of tabour and drum
Live the beat, to the Circle, come!
Author's Notes: The ancient ways have come again, and by Lithia's fires we dance and spin. The Summer King is crowned again in the ancient wheel of life.
