Something Better, Olde & New

You might be right about the world ending
But that’s really nothing new
We've become so damn good at pretending
That there’s no risk with what we do.
Yes, we’re draining rivers and fouling our own air
We’re popping meds like no tomorrow
And we live like we don’t care
That the consequence is global sorrow.
But dig a little deeper and I hope that you will find
Olde gods and goddesses returning,
Ushering in a softening of hardened hearts
And a collective opening of Mind.
You might be right about the world ending
Yeah, there may be little you can do
But the blind Reason they’ve been defending
Is giving way to something better, Olde and New.
