Hunters vs Trappers
by Cernunnos Poetry
Age Group: Adult
Seek me out for knowledge
Hunt me down for fun
Just do it with Respect
And a Friend you’ll have forever won
But if you try to snare me
If it’s a trap for me you’d set
I’ll see through your intentions
Who knows what you might get?
You see I am a thoughtful hunter
And every animal’s my friend
We know all actions have a consequence
Each sweet life a bitter end
So You can hunt us if you must
(We’ll gladly satisfy your lust)
So long as when we part
You don’t just take me with a bullet
You kill me with your Heart.
You see I would rather be an antlered buck
Hanging proudly on your wall
Than a languishing fawn trapped
inside a miserable stall.
Either way, all our hands are blooded
It’s a simply a matter of context
A Hunter’s heart is powerfully flooded
A careless Trapper can’t see what might happen next.
