The More i don't Think (the more Artemis smiles)

The more i don’t think
I think the more I understand
There’s no depth if there’s no bottom
there's no sea without dry land.
There’s no real pleasure without some pain, love
and we can’t know light without the dark
We’d not know satiation without the hunger
and nothing mysterious without the stark.
Against death sweet life is all-the-more worthwhile
and only fear makes us want to feel safe
It’s salty tears that finally makes her really smile
tis just uncertainty that spawns blind faith.
There’d be no so-called Reason
Without the power of the word
This ability of ours to name things
Our sacred double-edged sword.
In the hands of thoughtless men
It can be used to cut us off from powers
In the hands of a gifted goddess
It can be used to make this love of ours
Reason can be made a tyrant
‘hold us back from a higher goal
‘dictates man must love just one woman
not another’s beautiful soul
But isn’t it a more open heart-set
That we should all assume?
We’ll never love our neighbours
If they are lesser, we presume.
Its this modern desert we live in
‘fosters so much negativity
Use it to your advantage:
- a source for positive serendipity?
When i used to be so rational
when I saw in such stark clarity
I used to call my lover ‘My Oasis
in this desert of vulgarity".
Now I know that my oasis
Was given substance by the sand
And the desert would not exist at all
Were it not for more verdant land.
