The Tidal Pull of Moonlight

You release me from the darkness
that blackest night I’d been lost in
You - not just a beacon in the distance
through Her I can be the Sun again
You freed me from that dungeon
that I’d been languishing in
You - not just a breath o’ fresh air
through Her I am in the Winds again
You revive me from the longest drought
that I’d been slowly perishing in
‘Not just the cup o’ water you brought
No, through Her I am the rain again.
You showed me out of selfish sorrow
that lonely pathos I’d been feeling
The wild birds and beasts are with me now
how can I Thank You for this healing?
You lead me from the desert
that wilderness from which I roam
If You are the oasis, then I am the trees
We’re a place I could call Home.
You found me in the vastest Sea
‘neath the waves that pulled me under
I don’t just stand again on Her blessed land
I am the sky, the clouds, and rolling thunder.
But can you shelter me from moonlight?
can you keep me from the tidal pull therein?
Can we raise our Love to such a height?
‘Don’t think I want to be the night again...
