Don't Ask Me to Wait (When I'm Drowning)

Please don’t ask me to patiently wait
I’ve been asked that too much before
by a woman that I both love and fear
I fell for her trap: - I took the bait -
yet I still hope that our Friendship will soar
(But I mostly languish yet alone down here) .
Please don’t ask me to patiently wait
I’ve embraced those words once before
from the impossible Goddess that I still Love
The Ideal Woman I still celebrate
I’ve waited too long to again hold that Dove
(only for Imperfect Her will I wait ‘evermore) .
Please don’t ask me to patiently wait
I’ve been lead to that green pasture before
with the promise of one beautiful daughter
I, willingly lead up to heaven’s gate
to find I’d just been set up for slaughter!
Oh, the lovely lost girl that we never bore...
for her too I would forever wait
(but I fear it’s getting too late) .
Please don’t ask me to patiently wait
I’ve died on that quiet killing floor before
- a slow inhumane torturous death:
soul crucifixion through self inquisition -
Oh, endless merciless question upon question
‘bout Reality, Time, Love, Woman and Fate.
Come to me now
Come restore my breath.
No, don’t ask me to patiently wait.
No, not when I’m drowning.
I would wait forever love.
[ “Hold his head under longer next time”]
I would wait forever my love.
[ “Drown ’im next time...”]
