Look back on black waters we've crossed
To arrive now on this rock where we stand
Behind us the tear seas that once tossed
Us, our journey to this dry barren island
Look back on those black days now lost
Just to arrive on this rock where we stand
Our friendship intact, the reward and the cost
Of safe passage to this rock - take my hand
Don't look back upon Love that reminds us
Just cherish now this bare rock where we sit
Sad though the sweet memories behind us
Embers glow warm still from the fires we lit
Do not look back upon the stormy weather
The dark waves that shipwrecked us here
We are blessed - our friendship held together
Let our mystic alliance now cast away fear
Come, look back tenderly now at our history
View its dark depth now safely from above
Though we understand not all its mystery
On this barren rock let us grow higher love
Author's Notes: This from a very special morning with a special old friend on beautiful Stoney Lake. We, our friendship, survived the long emotional journey it took to arrive at this peaceful place. Thank you for letting me share it.
