Nine are seven days too long
to be cut off from your power
Your hold on me is still so strong
For you I wait in my watch-tower
Nine are seven miles too far away
to make up neighbourly excuses
to go and see you every second day.
(Three days without you finds me useless)
Nine are seven hours too short
the sweet days we spend together
We love our dance but we will not court
So we will not bring on killing weather
Nine planets are seven orbs too many
We do not need Mars nor Venus
Our own two spheres share harmony
All would agree who've ever seen us
Nine seconds was seven hours too few
Why must you rush our parting embrace?
For if I could I would forever hold you
'Wait always to see again your lovely face
Nine days are seven days too long
to be cut off from your Holy Grace
Your sad voice is like my Angel's song
Your sweet chalice a Grail I still chase
Author's Notes: I know. This is all over the place. Its personal, its not personal. It germinated from the news that some conference of Astronomical geniuses have collectively spent inordinant amounts of their time debating whether Pluto is or is not a planet, and concluding that it is not really a planet, but that it is a "dwarf planet", I guess they will have to change all the kiddies text books again. I don't think the decision it will have much impact on Pluto, or life on Earth for that matter. Its still there.
