A whispering plea
by Atlis Thorn
Age Group: Adult
In my head I hear the whisper,
the little voice calling out.
I glance to see if anyone is looking,
good, everyone is caught up in their own.
I close my eyes and open my mind,
the voice stops whispering,
She starts singing.
Words I don't understand,
from a time long gone.
Noticing my look of confusion,
she adapts to English.
I am unsure of what is happening,
I wonder if I am crazy,
Could I be crazy?
The words are clear and crisp,
they hold a message.
A message? No. A plea.
A plea for health and salvation.
You are killing me she says.
I know it is not just me but all of us.
Gaia grabs my hand and asks for help.
Spread my message and help save me.
I am only one, what can I do?
You can do your part and lead.
Lead by example and others are sure to follow.
The voice and the singing are gone and I am left alone.
Opening my eyes I see people staring.
Am I crazy? Am I a freak?
