What is with your country kitchen...
is this some kind of hallowed ground?
Like a portal to our inner selves...
a place where dreams are lost & found.
What is it with your harvest table...
is this some kind of sacred altar?
Like a plain where kindred spirits meet...
above which our dreams must soar then falter.
What is it with your old cookstove...
is this some kind of window on your Heart?
Like the winter Hearth that warms me
then grows cold in summer spent apart.
What is it with your lit candelabra...
is this some beacon burning bright?
Like the glowing halo that surrounds you
that grows dark in midst of holy night.
What is it with your country kitchen...
is it some kind of lovely mystic place?
Where Art and Beauty is ever created
Reflected in your lovely moonlit face.
