My old voice is almost unreachable
or at least it won't be easily heard
For I am practically unteachable
and these poems are not my words
When you ask me now to look inside
through black time its emptiness I see
I hear words whispered then from those who died
in bitter darkness sweet songs comfort me
They fall around me like a silver shroud
then my own dark shallow thoughts regress
Through the mists of Time they speak aloud
though embraced are they in Death's caress
What they have to say cannot just be said
yet it is sung out by returning birds today
It emerges green again from grass blades dead
Listen close to All that Nature has to say...
We must face our own black longest night
to find the songs of All before us on our lips
Then spring from cool dark depths on into flight
the music falling from our gossimar wing tips
