We are recycling at the curbside
So we're just using much more plastic...
Our good intentions are a mile wide
But just one inch deep, wrapped in elastic
We are all conserving at the gas pumps
So we can drive efficiently much more...
We need our S.U.V.s to take the city bumps
Saving even more gas on rural roads that we explore
We drink springs dry in bottled waters
So you can see how hip we really are...
Botox moms compete with their own daughters
While wise old crones drive off in even faster cars
We are living locked in gated enclaves
So we sleep not free, but safer at night...
Our illegal nannies are not mere slaves
Leaving free to starve is still their right.
We are eating healthy foods organic
We're not supporting farms or pesticides...
Our imperfect lawns won't make us panic
To kill the weeds we just use green herbicides
Author's Notes: What passes for "green" is disturbing. Toyoto recently marketed a new vehicle that is "good for the environment". Um... I don't think so.
