O
Beyond the stench of diesel
Behind brown foul city air
Beneath the lilac and the teasel
Wafts Her Earth scent in dark hair
Above broken inert limestone
Below clear blue country skies
Among deer-grass and the brome
Your dank mother essence lies
After the spring perfumes of balsam
Before sterile winds of summer days
Drifts your female scent so awesome
Around these trees that love your ways
Beside the townsfolk still so unaware
Inside your tall rank meadows vacant
Outside at night we meet Her there
Her light Earth Goddess scent so fragrant
Within Her lovely violet subtle scents
Without His foul dark smell of death
Between Her peaceful ways and violence
Her feminescence sustains my breath
