Avian Plague

Bird Flu Balance

She knows His end of days are coming fast
As She flight schools her little passerines
They will reclaim the seamless skies at last
When we have lived so far beyond our means
She knows the bird flu cull's approaching
As She calls her young raptors home to roost
They'll take back fields we've been encroaching
When Her little avian flu wrath is loosed...
So She watches with Her red hawk eyes
As She circles thermals high above us
Her young will soar again in clear cool skies
When She's passed on like memories of us
She still finds ways to hunt for rodent prey
Among the small remnants of prairies tall
Her growing fledglings must eat meat today
So by Her talons mice and men must fall...
She knows our end of days are coming soon
In that black hope She still feeds them well
His ways must cease before the Earth is dune
So Her young won't be lost in His hot arid hell
Author's Notes: I know this is a little dark. Obviously its about the way we are living beyond our means. I just wanted to look at plague from a different perspective with this piece.
