Somewhere across the Ocean vast
Buried just below the nurturing sod
Lies a fallen last-days Celtic cross
Erected not in praise of one high god
Chiselled by one lone stone mason
It's a glorious work of sculpted art
Three long years he took to make it
Crafted by Love within his sorry heart
He carved stone Mary in the middle
With Her loving arms spread wide
Shouldered by one angel and one demon
Flanked by two small children at Her side
Below the higher plane they go on
At the base there stroll three sages
They walk far in line under Her Grace
Like three wise men through the ages
Above Her crowns a floral cross
Four interwoven trillium flowers
Though carved in rock it glows magenta
But men can't see Her hidden Powers
