Were there be no more words to say
If there were not more wars to fight
Were we to always have our way
There would be nothing left to write
Were there be no more love to lose
If there was no more fear to face
Were we to get all that we chose
There would nothing left to chase
Were there be no more darker reasons
And no black knowledge left to grope for
Were we at Peace throughout all seasons
There would be nothing left to hope for
Were there be sense left unelated
If there was no new place left to go
Were our passions all far too satiated
There would be nothing left to know
Were there be no wants left to please
If there was no needs to lie white for
Were we to live in utter mundane ease
There would be nothing left to die for
