We need wide green open spaces
And the smell of leaf decay in autumn
All these seasons changing like your faces
Rendering me always your gentleman
We need this treed rural quietude
Among this your rolling fertile land
You are freed ever from his servitude
In the arms of I your country gentleman
We need these black mystic horses
And all the olde ways of our celtic clan
Sung still by babbling watercourses
For you my Lady by your gentleman
We need dark star-filled skies above
And summer flames for you to fan
By fireside evenings filled with love
For there I'm with you your gentleman
We need our wild independance
Far from this oh so civilized life urban
I will not constrain you with some fence
No, ever I'll be your country gentleman
