The Days Before...

The Days Before...

We had two quiet working horses
And clean full drinking watercourses
In our sweet days through history untold
The milky way softened our black night
And we made up in love by candlelight
In those days we lived our lives so bold
We had wood fire for our home heat
And our own warmth made all complete
In better days we refer to now as 'old'
We held all our wealth in just one ring
In our health and in our hopes for spring
In those poorer days everything was gold
We loved our mixed little pasture farm
And we lived mystically without a harm
In those days before our souls were sold
