it's time
by Atlis Thorn
Age Group: Adult
These days turn
and we close our eyes.
It is time to see
what is around us.
No more hiding
in our pity.
Now is the time
to open our hearts.
We need to stand and fight
no more letting it pass
without a second thought.
Life is a gift
one we take for granted.
Rise in the morning
and enjoy.
Simple, yet worth while.
Author's Notes: At a hard time in my life I found out that someone in my group had passed unexpectedly. These words just seemed to jump into my mind so I wrote them, and I think that they are some of the most honest words I have ever put down.
