You may approach me in my pasture
I could evade you fleeing naturally
But if you're kind I will respect you
Then I will give and let you catch me
You can cross tie me in steel chains
I can break these strong links in two
But if you ask and groom me kindly
I'll stand here still all day for you
You can place your saddle on my back
Though I could crush you under stirrup
But because you hack me out so kindly
For today I will just let you tack me up
Put a cold bridled bit into my mouth
I could still sheer you off at speed...
But I respect you and you love me
So I'll now be your dark obliging steed
Ask with your ardent hands and legs
I could directly buck you off and roll
But because you're kind and gentle
I'll just collect now under your control
