And so, he marches forward

by Silver Raven

Age Group: Teen

This one man, he stands alone.
The world has chosen being against him.
He brings peace into a hateful world.
But the hate spawns without end.
This man, he tries to explain himself.
Society's gavel pounds relentlessly.
Too much pain to be understood
by those who bring it to him.
His tears flow and trace lines
down his miserable face.
What does the world expect from him?
His innocence, does it matter?
His life, doesn't it mean just as much
as those who taunt him?
His sadness...do they even care?
The shards of the mirror lay strewn across the floor.
Reflecting another day of rejection.
"Please, world, accept me."
"No, outsider, the unknown is evil."
His heartfelt, honest words scribble out his mouth.
Onto a paper, then they fade.
Never to be read again.
Never to be understood.
Life does hold value.
He needs to see that.
He needs to look past the fog of negativity.
He runs. he runs from the pain. He runs until he drops.
The trees swooning around him seem accepting.
The sky above him seems loving.
Does he belong here, among the truly living?
Or should he return to the land where he is denied?
No.
Here, he wil stay.
Among the Great Mother.
Among the Great father.
Here, he will live.
No outsiders to tell him he has no worth.
Only an open world of nature.
Perhaps eventually, the outsiders will understand.
Until then, he prays.

Author's Notes: Merry meet.

This piece is about my struggle with society, and its rejecting ways. When this man goes to the forest, this is metaphorically me living a different life and leaving the typical world I used to live in. everything is now seen in a new light. I wish you all the best in your paths, and many lives to come.

Blessed Be.
