Come walk with me down country lanes
Regreened, refreshed, and proud
By white serviceberry's blossomed lace
Ambling here on Earth as if through cloud
Come walk with me past old homesteads
Long spent now growing wild with pine
Listen close - these old souls aren't dead
Rambling here on Earth as if cloud nine
Come walk on with me 'neath azure skies
To clouds whisped by sunlight fine as lace
Here resplendent Nature dons a thin disguise
And I'm so consumed by Beauty in this place
Come walk me still through morning air
Perfumed by sweet balsam's heady scent
Its a thrill this friendship we now share
Like Spring on Earth here truly heaven-sent
Come walk with me o'er renewed green land
Under woodcock calling out 'bove poplars verdent
Then by full pussy-willows come take my hand
Fall down with me through our seasons ardent!
