You wove one for each lunar day
Within our horses' thick black manes
Twenty-eight dark arcane braids
Like light leather braids upon your reins
I've smudged with one each lunar day
Burning sweet grass whips to clean the air
Weaving twenty-eight more green blades
Like fine auburn braids hidden in dark hair
We weave one poem more each lunar day
To border in what dim divinity still lingers
Braiding moonlight to reflect on our olde ways
Like silver celtic bands around our fingers
I braid twelve inches for each lunar day
Twenty-eight long strong feet of fibre rope
That we could have used to build a home
But instead you wove it 'round my throat...
You weave one barb more each lunar day
To make this my braided crown of thorns
A twisted torc of twenty-eight gold staves
To adorn my cold neck below these horns
