Spring from Dark Forests

O
Think not today of lost dark love
Nor long cold nights spent on our knees
For the weak sun is gaining warmth above
And I still feel you Light on the zephyr breeze
Think not of Life we've lost from Earth
Nor how men pain this Mother of ours
No, come write with me of Spring's rebirth
Let's just celebrate Her fragrant wild flowers
Think not of black ashphalt nor fumes
Nor of the world's lost wonders so awesome
Not by the perfumes of these lilac blooms
How could we insensed by apple blossoms?
Think not now of bright days darkly spent
Nor of conflicted war-words so insinutive
No, come join me in morn's balsam scent
Among words and gay-wings so diminutive
Think not of lost love's tales once told
Nor of how our lust life emphatic was
For cold rains bring forth marsh marigolds
And from dark forests spring hepaticas
