Smile with me a little longer
From within dark places where we hide
Let these verses make us stronger
While we put the strut back in our stride
Come share with me another laugh
From these dark places where we hide
Let's fill our golden cups at last to half
While we cheerfully tilt them and imbide
Dance me now unto another time
Within the vast spaces where we hide
Let seas dark ebb and flow through rhyme
While we rise gently on the ocean's tide
Touch me lightly on a night like this
From behind dark demons where love hides
Let me steal by moonlight one bright kiss
Under the thick grey cloud skies we scryed
Come share with me a sad yet joyful tear
From deep within dark places where we hide
Let me be your poet lover loyal and dear
While we prepare for one more mystic ride
