Northern Canada geese are pairing up
While chickadees are gleefully dee-deeing
Snow-patched fields brown are drying up
As drowning Sunshine warms your inner Being
Red-winged blackbirds are to old dales returning
To marshes frozen, staking out their kin in place
Spring’s wet promise leaves bold males yearning
While kinder Sunlight warms your feminine face
It’s a stronger Sun through trees now glowing
As it harkens southward and true western sets
Against a gentler zephyr breeze now blowing
To herald in cute owl love-songs of saw-whets
“Nevermore” sings Raven to a lone crow’s caw
In flight two dark silhouettes apart at day’s end
Yet Spring brings us evermore to Love-throe’s awe
You still shine Venus-bright my warm twilight friend
Tonight soon start male woodcocks in their sky-dance
To stake out their wild will and birth-right territories
Believing all is One: just hearts, their child, and romance
Leaving trust to make out Earth's moonlight mysteries
