Black Horses, Not Machines

Black Horses, Not Machines
There’s no fine camera that could capture
Spring’s thousand vibrant shades of green
No bottled fragrance ‘heady as May’s blossoms’ scent
And these black gentle horses aren’t shiny machines
There’s no history that’s been written yet of rapture
Of what’s to come from high above where we have been
‘No bound mysteries greater than our slow dark dance
And these black horses gentle are not fast machines
There’s been no sermon summoned from the mount
‘Clear as cascading cold creek courses pristine
No hot romance scribed so bold as that we dance
And these old kind horses black aren’t weak machines
There’s no modern means to store nor count
Nature’s gold riches: all the miracles we’ve seen
No data banks could hold nor compute our stoled balance
Upon the backs of gentle horses that are not machines
There’s no police state that’s so intrusive
‘Could have intelligence about what Love we glean
No men abusive strong enough to take their stance
Against gentle horses black confronting their machines
